EQUINE ASSISTED SKILLS DEVELOPMENT (EASD) DAY
Emotional Intelligence and Communication Skills for Young People
The EASD Day delivers the core content of the Horsesense Youth Program in a single intensive day. It is suited to school groups, community organisations, and referred groups.
All activities are ground-based experiential learning.
This program exists to relieve the distress and disadvantage experienced by vulnerable, disengaged or at-risk young people. It reduces social isolation, supports emotional regulation in young people who lack effective coping strategies; teaches valuable communication skills, builds confidence and self-efficacy in those who have experienced exclusion or failure, and re-engages young people with learning and relationships through non-judgmental, horse-centred learning.
Delivers the core H4C EAL experience in a single day, making it accessible to groups who cannot commit to a multi-week program – directly reducing barriers to access for disadvantaged cohorts.
Often this is offered as the last day – the finale – of a term-long Youth Mentoring Program, in conjunction with a partner service provider.
